Today we learned how to import text, pictures, and titles. We also learned how to put links into buttons and how are grades are scored.
Later, we talked about what sizing and resolution we should use for our projects.
6.5 inches width
5.5 inches height
100-150 pixels per inch.
We learned how layers worked, too. The move tool can only be used on unlocked layers.
Double click the layer to unlock it.
Ctrl + z = Undo
Ctrl + d = De-selecting
Our grade consists of:
45% Daily Grade
15% Projects
20% Webpage/Blog- Keeping notes of things done each class each day
20% Projects on your own- Two unique projects made using a combination of skills learned of the course.
January 8th, 2014
Today we made a brush for our signatures by using the magic eraser to delete other colors behind our names. We also created our own "abstract" art using any tools we wanted in Photoshop.
January 9th, 2014
Today we did not have to blog today.
January 10th, 2014
Rasterize means to fuse things together permanently.
Today we "did Bling." We created a three dimensional word by using outer glow, inner glow, gradient overlay, and pattern overlay to make the word "bling" appear to be sparkling. Then we copied that layer, undid the effects and created a shadow by skewing it and using Gaussian blur to make the shadow. To finish it off, we used a star template paintbrush and used black and white to make more sparkles.
When I did a copy of Bling-1, the only thing I forgot how to do was adjust the size of the text. I made up for this by just using the font size icon. I also used a different pattern in the text.

Today, we began working on our imitation art of Frank Stella. We used the rectangular marquee tools to create boxes which we then filled with monochromatic or analogous colors to create our art.
Frank Stella was a New York painter, most famous for his modern art. The height of his career was from the 50s to the end of the 70s. He was a revolutionary in modern art. In the 80s and onward he focused more on sculpture.

Today, we finished our Frank Stella imitation art. Later, we did an introduction to the COLD project, where we invert a word to make it look like it has a reflection.
January 15, 2014
Windows-History= long-term undo
Today we worked on our "COLD" project. We did this by putting an outer glow, inverting (vertical) a copy of the word and adding the wind filter multiple times by pressing Ctrl+F. Then we used the eraser with low opacity to make it fade into the picture.
This project was easy, but I still had trouble with text boxes and adjusting the size in relation to the text box.
January 16, 2014
Today we did the "FIRE" lesson. We used a black background and then put a white Mongolian font and made a copy. The copy is hidden and then the smudge tool creates the fire. We then went to the "Pokemon" ball at the bottom and clicked hue and saturation. The flames turned orange and we made a gradient on the copy on top.
January 21, 2014
Today we made our first gif. First we made a layer of black with rectangle of white at the bottom and copied it four times. Then we made individual flame designs and put a hugh on it. Then we went to Windows+Animation and made five slides, hiding each layer before. Then we "tweened" each one for a better transition. When saving, use save Web & Devices and make sure it is on gif.
January 22, 2014
Today we began our nine week project of 80s video games. I made a stamp of a cherry to use and made the borders and coins today.
January 23, 2014
Today we continued working on our nine week project.
January 27, 2014
Today we made our Grass projects. We made a green background and then typed the word "GRASS." then we put an inner and outer glow on it. After, we made a Gaussian blur and put a "grassy" pattern on it.
January 28, 2014
Today we worked on the Stitches project. We arced our word and then made a copy of it and a path. The background should be denim. Then the we stroke layer with the right-clicked pen tool and used the brush option with size 15 triangle stitches. We put a number underneath as well.
January 29, 2014
Today we finished our Stitches project and started working on another. This project is to put words around things using the shape tool with text tool automatically going around it.
January 30, 2013
Today we finished our circular word project. We do this by typing along a eclipse shape and then putting in on a new layer by merging it. Then, we can delete the shape so it is transparent.
January 31, 2014
Today we worked on our clipping mask projects. WE do this by:
1. copying the layer
2. putting a white layer
3. typing a word
4. making a clipping mask on the layer (don't know which one)
5. somehow getting the white to disappear to have the word on it.
6. put a stroke on the word (switch #5 and this one)
February 3, 2014
Today I worked on my nine week project. These are the instructions
1.I made a stamp present by using the pencil select tool around a tree and using that in Edit+ Define Brush Presets.
2.I made a landscape by using the rectangle select tool and control backspace for the sky and also one for the ground. Then I used a brush for the sidewalk
February 4, 2014
Continuing the steps:
3. I made a stamp of a bench to put besides the tree
4.I made copies of the tree and bench in a darker color, then flipped the tree horizontally and used skew on both to make them look like shadows.
5.I used brush presets and made birds, transforming one horizontally to make it face the opposite side.
February 5, 2014
Today I finished my second Nine Week Project.
February 6, 2014
Today I wrote out all of the instructions for both of my projects and moved them to the Nine Week Project page on my website.
February 10, 2014
Today we began our midtone/shadow/highlight project. The we selected the shadow of our faces by going to Select+Color range. This is the same for the midtones and highlights. Each one should be it its own layer! Then we merged midtones and shadow together so idk. After, we made brushes of five individual words that described us and changed the presets on how they were spaced and the angle jitter and scattering of each of them uniquely. I have no idea how we will connect the two things.
February 11, 2014
Today we added a white layer, added a new layer on top of that, filled it with adjectives that described our selves with custom brushes and called it word layer. Then we hid the word layer and the white layer hit Ctrl+A to select the entire midtone layer, Ctrl+C to copy, hid the midtones unhid the word layer added a vector mask by clicking the "camera" icon depressed the Alt button and clicked the layer mask Ctrl+V pasted it, deselected it, Ctrl+I to invert it and unhid the white layer. Filled it in do fill the picture with words. The end woo
February 12, 2014
Today we did the same thing except with colors, imitating Andy Worhol. We just fill shadows, highlights, and midtones with they're own colors.
February 13, 2014
Today we used posterizing. We did this by going to edit, adjustments, and choosing desaturization. Then we went to adjustments posterizing. Then we used the select color range thingy and got shadow, midtones, and highlights and put colors on them.
February 14, 2014
I left school early on this day, but I was told we were doing the same thing as the day before.
February 18, 2014
Today we did the same thing and then instead we put the black layer and put a text box over that. Once we're done then we put a mask over that, hid the text and black layers, then Ctrl+A the picture and Alt Click the mask after showing the layer again. paste the picture and paste everything.
February 19, 2014
February 20, 2014
Today, we made our iPod advertisement imitations. Using the pencil select tool, select the image that you want to use and then go to edit and fill. Put i_____ and that's it.
February 24, 2014'

April 11,
Today I worked on mt spongebob movie poster.
